Seven facilities — and two of them aren't facilities at all. Midwest Mobile Canning and Heartland Mobile Canning both bring the line to your site rather than the other way round. Of the five fixed plants, only Craftsmith Beverage publishes a minimum: 930 gallons at the pilot end, scaling to 15,000.
The published minimum first, then the rest alphabetically.
| Facility | City | Minimum run | Formats | Alcohol | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Craftsmith Beverage | Naperville | 930 galpilot floor, scales to 15,000 gal | Can 12 oz std/sleek, 16 oz tall, 19.2 oz stovepipe | Beer, hard seltzer, RTD cocktail | Full-service contract craft producer with a published range from pilot batch to full commercial scale. Also handles hemp/THC beverages. FDA, GMP and PCQI compliant, with 48-hour quotes. |
| Assemblies Unlimited | Bloomingdale | Not published | PET, pouch | Not published | A contract packager whose beverage line — juice, syrups, gels, hot-fill and pasteurised — sits inside a mostly non-beverage business. Beverage isn't the primary focus here. |
| Berner Food & Beverage | Dakota | Not published | — | Not published | Dairy-based shelf-stable drinks — RTD coffee and tea, functional, protein shakes, energy — for large CPG brands and emerging private label alike, out of a roughly 1M sq ft plant. SQF Level 3, organic and HACCP certified. |
| Heartland Mobile Canning | Shorewood | Not applicable | Can 8.4–16 oz, standard & sleek | Beer, hard seltzer, energy | Small family operation covering Illinois, Indiana and Michigan. States plainly it won't run sour beers or kombucha. Also featured on our mobile canning page. |
| Midwest Mobile Canning LLC | Crystal Lake | Not applicable | Can | Beer | Covers northern Illinois, Wisconsin, northwest Indiana, eastern Iowa, eastern Minnesota and Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Its own site was unreachable at verification; confirmed active via directory and social listings. Also on our mobile canning page. |
| Proven Partners Group | Elgin | Not published | PET | Not published | Co-manufacturer for protein shakes and functional beverages, roughly 10,000 bottles a day. Acquired by Coregistics (BelPak group) in 2024. Official site's certificate was expired at verification — confirmed via directory and press instead. |
| The Fresh Factory | Chicago | Not published | Pouch, PET | Not published | Better-for-you cold-pressed juice, wellness shots and smoothies, with a second production site in Carol Stream. Bottles, jars, pouches and sachets. |
Midwest Mobile Canning and Heartland Mobile Canning together cover most of the upper Midwest — Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan — without either one requiring you to ship product to a plant. That's an unusually high share of mobile-only capacity for a single state's list, and it changes the calculus for anyone brewing on-site who just needs a canning line for a day.
The remaining five are a genuine mix: Craftsmith's full-service craft production, Berner's large-scale dairy-based RTD for major CPG brands, Assemblies Unlimited and Proven Partners Group running beverage as one line inside broader co-manufacturing operations, and The Fresh Factory's cold-pressed juice and shots.
The practical read: if you already brew or ferment on-site and just need packaging, Illinois's mobile canners may be the fastest path — no plant minimum to negotiate at all.
Across the 217 facilities we track nationally, about one in seven publishes a minimum — Illinois matches that rate almost exactly, at one of seven. Craftsmith's own figures span 930 gallons at the pilot end to 15,000 at full commercial scale, a wider published range than most single-figure minimums we've found.
Illinois sits well below Wisconsin (four of ten) and New Jersey (three of eight), but well above North Carolina, which publishes none at all.
Two co-manufacturers here — Assemblies Unlimited and Proven Partners Group — treat beverage as a secondary line inside a bigger business. Confirm beverage is still an active line before assuming your product fits their core focus.
Craftsmith's 930 gallons is the pilot floor, not the only option — their own range runs to 15,000 gallons for full commercial production. Ask which end of that range applies to your volume.
Proven Partners Group was acquired by Coregistics in 2024. Its official site had an expired certificate at the time we checked — the underlying business appears active via directory and press coverage, but confirm current ownership and contact details directly before relying on older listings.
Tell us the product and the volume. We come back with the facilities that can actually run it — including the mobile canners if you're already brewing on-site.
