Boston is the largest city in New England and the hub of one of the country's densest craft brewing scenes. It has exactly one contract brewery we could verify: Dorchester Brewing, running a 30-barrel system for around fifteen brands. Everything else in the state sits outside the city — Lowell, Worcester, Norwood, Marblehead.
The five split cleanly by what they actually do. Two are alcohol routes (Dorchester for beer, M.S. Walker for spirits). One is a long-established non-alcoholic bottler (Ginseng Up, 39 years). One is a mobile canner. One — Merrimack, in Lowell — is the only fixed plant here positioned squarely at brands that need formulation help and label design as well as filling.
The practical read: Massachusetts is well covered for beer and spirits, thin for everything else, and silent on volume across the board.
Across the 217 facilities we track nationally, 27 publish a minimum — about one in eight. Massachusetts publishes none of five, alongside North Carolina, Michigan and Illinois.
The state is also served by mobile canners based elsewhere — Anvil Craft Services covers Massachusetts from Connecticut, on top of Black Diamond in Marblehead. For a brand already brewing or fermenting on site, that's two ways to get packaged without negotiating a plant minimum at all.

Dorchester Brewing is our lowest-confidence entry on this page. The trade press describes it as Boston's first contract brewery, but we could not confirm the current contract offer on their own site. If it's your first choice on geography, confirm the basics by phone before building a plan around it.
Black Diamond Canning's site was unreachable when we checked. The business appears active across New England via third-party listings, but the details here aren't from a page we could read. Treat coverage area and formats as indicative.
