Minnesota legalised low-dose hemp-derived THC drinks in 2022, and its contract brewing industry absorbed the category almost immediately. Four of these 5 facilities are breweries, and four of them run THC beverages — Surly, Summit and Brau Brothers all name it directly, with Brau Brothers running its own Bleezy line since 2023.
That matters practically: in most states, finding a co-packer willing to touch a THC drink is the hard part. In Minnesota it's close to the default. If that's your category, this is a shorter search than almost anywhere else.
The trade-off is scale. Everything here is quoted in barrels, and the smallest batch anyone mentions is 60 — roughly 800 cases. There's no pallet-sized entry point in this state the way there is in Florida or New Jersey.
Across the 234 facilities we track nationally, 38 publish a minimum — about one in six. Minnesota publishes 1 of 5, even though three of its breweries put barrel figures on their websites.
That gap is the whole point. Surly lists 60 to 600 BBL under “Our Capabilities”; Fulton lists “80 and 160 bbl batch sizes” under Capabilities. Both describe what the equipment can run. Summit is the only one that frames a number around the customer — batch sizes “beginning at 100 bbls” — so it is the only one we record.
We briefly recorded all three as published minimums, then checked each source page on 1 August 2026 and removed two. A number on a website isn't a minimum unless the facility asks you to meet it — and most of the time, it doesn't.
A barrel is 31 US gallons — roughly 13 cases of 24×12 oz, so Summit's 100 barrels is about 1,300 cases. We publish the brewery's own unit rather than converting, because a converted number is our arithmetic, not their commitment.
Surly and Fulton publish batch sizes, not minimums. Surly lists 60 to 600 barrels, Fulton 80 and 160 — both under “capabilities”. Neither says what the smallest order it will accept is, so that's the first question to ask. Fulton publishes a direct contract email; Surly takes enquiries by form only.
