Five are breweries that opened contract space: Eagle Park, Octopi, Sprecher, Stevens Point and Wisconsin Brewing — and City Brewing, the largest plant in the state, is a brewery that became a pure co-manufacturer. That isn't a coincidence in a state with this much brewing history — it's what happens when established plants have line time to sell and a culture of quoting batch sizes out loud.
It also explains why a minimum here can be stated in barrels rather than cases. A barrel is 31 US gallons, and how many cases that makes depends on a can size and a pack count the facility does not state. We publish the unit the facility uses rather than converting it, because a converted number is our arithmetic, not their commitment.
The practical read: if you're launching a beer, cider, seltzer or canned cocktail, Wisconsin is a short list, and several of its plants name a figure. If you're launching a water or a juice, it gets shorter still.
Across the 234 facilities we track nationally, only 38 publish a minimum — about one in six. Wisconsin publishes 3 of 11.

A facility that publishes its minimum is telling you it doesn't want to waste your call or its own. That is worth something before you've even spoken to anyone.
Eagle Park's 700 cans is a pilot batch, not a standing minimum. Their standard runs are 12,000 to 40,000 cans. It's a genuine way to test a product on commercial equipment — just don't plan a launch around the pilot price.
Stevens Point's 100 barrels comes with a 1,000-barrel minimum annual commitment. The batch size is the friendly number; the annual figure is the one that rules brands in or out.
Octopi's 4,000 cases can no longer be sourced. The brewery was acquired by Asahi in January 2024; octopibrewing.com no longer serves co-packing information and the Asahi page we could reach names no minimum. The offer appears to still exist — the published number does not.
